Pink Saturday!

When I found out that there was such a thing as Pink Saturday, I just knew I had to participate! I think from childhood, my favorite color has always been pink. This is a wall hanging that I have recently finished. It is a class I have been teaching here at my shop and it has taken a couple of years to finish it. I entered it in the Sedgwick County fair and it won a blue ribbon! It measures 36 x 36 and it was made in honor of the Peace Rose. We have a peace rose in our garden in the back yard and they are beautiful mixture of white, pink and yellow.

I have also been selling the squares as kits on my website. I think I need to list the final square to those of you that have been doing them!

If you have a moment, please stop by Beverly's blog at www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com as she is the sponsor of Pink Saturday.

Have a great day,

  1. Happy Pink Saturday Valerie...
Welcome to Pink Saturday. We are so thrilled you have decided to join us. We are some of the most fun pinkies that you will ever meet, and we all have lots of pink to share.

Your quilted wall hanging is just beautiful. I am quite familiar with a peace rose. The first one I can remember was under my Grandma's kitchen window. She loved it there, when the breeze would blow she could smell it. They are so sweet.

Your colors are so exquisite, and it is so breathtaking. I love the way your colors go from the pinks to the yellow. I can clearly see why you won a blue ribbon. Thank you for sharing with me today.

I have signed up to follow your blog. I can't wait to see what you share next. Please stop by and let me share my pink post with you. I love sharing and meeting new friends. I would be honored if you signed up to follow my blog as well.

    Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

My Grandma made alot of quilts, and they were all crazy quilts. I feel so lucky to have a couple of them, and I admire anyone who can quilt in that style!

  35. This is an extremely belated Happy Pink Saturday to you, Valerie. I have been so busy with work that I can hardly get around to visit. But, I do want you to know that I am happy you joined us.

This piece is gorgeous, and I adore the Peace rose, too. In fact, I have one from my rose garden pictured on my blog. A soft yellow is my favorite color, and yellow and pink is a favorite color combination for me. I so admire people with your creativity and talent. Anything requiring a needle is beyond my skill set.
